The HCCCF Vocal Scholarships are generously sponsored by The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation, and are provided to encourage the educational growth of new students enrolled in the Vocal Program at MI. Twelve HCCCF Vocal scholarships will be awarded in Fall 2012 to students (US or non-US citizens) enrolling in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Vocal) program who enter with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 (or better) and can clearly articulate their goals as a vocalist (see essay instructions).
The scholarship is applicable for students enrolled in the Vocal performance program only, and may not be transferred to “non-performance program” emphases (Audio Engineering, Music Business, Independent Artist, Guitar Craft, or Film) within an AA degree.

Requirements & Checklist
  • Enrolling AA (Vocal) students only.
  • US citizen and non-US citizen.
  • Submit a 250 word essay explaining why you should be considered for a HCCCF Vocal Scholarship. Include your long and short-term goals and any other factors you consider relevant. Essays that exceed the 250 word limit will not considered.
  • Submit a copy of your official high school or college transcript.
Eligibility is determined by a combination of academic standing (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75) and the quality and content of the scholarship essay.

 VLIR-UOS Scholarships for Training & Master Programmes, Belgium

VLIR-UOS awards scholarships to students from Africa, Asia and Latin-America to follow a training or master programme at a Dutch speaking university or university college in Belgium. The eligible training or master programmes are taught in English. They are designed for people in positions of responsibility in civil society.
The scholarships cover all related expenses. For application, please visit the website of the training or master programme. You can apply for a scholarship from October 2012 (master programmes) or November 2012 (master programmes organised at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and all training programmes). The deadline for application for the master programmes: 1 February 2013.
VLIR-UOS enables innovative partnerships between universities and university colleges in Flanders and in developing countries. VLIR-UOS aims to find sustainable responses to global challenges and local needs.
You can apply for a scholarship if you meet the following requisites:
  • You are a resident AND national of one of the countries on the country list (not necessarily the same country for residence and nationality). Please note that candidates must reside in one of these countries at the moment of application.
  • You are not older than 40 years* if you apply for a scholarship to follow a master programme. Or you are not older than 45 years* if you apply for a scholarship to follow a training programme. (* on 1 January 2012)
  • You have the required English proficiency. You need a proof of at least 1 year of comprehensive English-based instruction at a university or recognized equivalent. If not, a TOEFL test is required with a minimum total score of 550 on the paper based test (PBT), or 79 on an internet based test (IBT); or an IELTS test with a minimum overall band score of 6,5; or a proof of another test of similar level as TOEFLE or IELTS.
  • Professional experience and employment perspectives are not required for a master programme, but they can be a competitive advantage for selection, depending on the programme. Present employment or reintegration perspectives are required for a training programme. The candidate must be currently employed or have a written (future) employer’s guarantee of (re)integration in an employment where the acquired knowledge and skills will be immediately applicable.
  • Earlier applications and scholarships: You do not apply for more than one VLIR-UOS scholarship a year. You have never received a master scholarship funded by the Belgian government before. You are only admissible for a training programme scholarship if you have not received a VLIR-UOS scholarship for a training programme before.
  • Only for employees of a university that currently receives support from VLIR-UOS through the IUC programme or OI programme: you need a letter from the IUC or OI coordinator stating that your department is not involved in IUC or OI. Contact the programme manager in the IUC or OI office at your university for further information.
For selection we take into account the following criteria:
  • Motivation: It is essential that the candidate’s motivation demonstrates the possibility of transferring knowledge or creating extension activities, and having a specific developmental dimension.
  • Professional experience, preferably in a research institution, a higher education institution, the government sector (national/regional/local), the sector of social economy, or an NGO. Preferably expertise in development relevant matters.
  • Present employment/reintegration perspectives, preferably in a research institution, a higher education institution, the government sector (national/regional/local), the sector of social economy, or an NGO. Preferably with the possibility to generate an impact through the transfer of knowledge, extension activities or otherwise. Not in the commercial profit sector.
  • Previous scholarships: Prioririty will be given to the application of a candidate for a master programme who did not already has been granted a previous master scholarship. For a candidate for a training programme, the selection committee assesses the opportunity of a VLIR-UOS scholarship award, taking into consideration the candidates’ previous study and scholarship curriculum.
  • Gender: In case of two equally qualified candidates of different sexes, preference will be given to the female candidate. The selection commission will aim at a parity or relative balance between the number of men and the number of women awarded a VLIR-UOS scholarship.
  • Regional balance: The selection commission will try to ensure that 50% of a programme’s scholarships are granted to candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Social background: In case of two equally qualified candidates, preference will be given to candidates from a disadvantaged area within their country or an ethnic or social minority group, especially when these candidates can provide proof of leadership potential.

Only persons who are resident AND national of one of the following countries (not necessarily the same country for residence and nationality) are eligible for a VLIR-UOS scholarship. Please note that candidates must reside in one of these countries at the moment of application.

The Belgian government does not allow us to give scholarships to residents or nationals from other countries than those on the country list.

You can apply from October 2012 (master programmes) or November 2012 (master programmes organised at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and all training programmes) for a scholarship by following the procedure below:
  1. Go to the information page of the training or master programme of your interest.
  2. Look for the inscription link on the programme website and apply via the application form of the Flemish host university or university college. From this year on you do not need a VLIR-UOS file number anymore (i.e. no pre-screening form from VLIR-UOS required).
  3. Receive a return e-mail from the Flemish host university or university college.
  4. Send a printout of your application file along with all required documents (diploma transcripts, motivation, etc…) to the International Office of the host university or university college (not to VLIR-UOS!). You will find the information on the website of the programme.
Then you have correctly applied and can your application be considered. Scholarship application deadlines are:

The Faculty of Science is proud to offer the UQ Science International Scholarships program. The program is two-tiered with applicants eligible to be considered either for scholarships valued at a total of AU $12,000 or AU $5,000 with one application. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic performance and the applicant’s personal statement.

Science Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships: Total value AU $12,000
(paid AU $6,000 in first semester of study and AU $6,000 in second semester of study)
Science Undergraduate Merit Scholarships: Total value AU $5,000
(paid at AU $3,000 in first semester of study and AU $2,000 in second semester of study)
The scholarships are available for students applying for entry into any of the science coursework programs at undergraduate level.

Perpanjangan & Pembukaan Baru Beasiswa Supersemar Tahun 2012
Bantuan beasiswa Supersemar untuk mahasiswa Institut Pertanian Bogor tahun anggaran 2012 diberikan untuk 140 mahasiswa, dengan bantuan beasiswa sebesar Rp. 200.000,-/mahasiswa/bulan, terhitung mulai 1 Januari 2012 sampai 31 Desember 2012.

Beasiswa Double Degree / Joint Degree S2 / S3 Beasiswa Unggulan Luar Negeri Ditjen Dikti

Sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualifikasi calon dosen dan tenaga kependidikan, Direktorat Jendral Pendidikan Tinggi melalui Direktorat Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan membuka pendaftaran beasiswa Double Degree / Joint Degree S2 / S3 Beasiswa Unggulan Luar Negeri untuk alokasi tahun 2012. Program beasiswa ini diperuntukan bagi calon dosen dan tenaga kependidikan di lingkungan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan yang sedang studi Pascasarjana Penyelenggara Double Degree / Joint Degree.
Bagi yang berminat melamar beasiswa tersebut, silakan mendaftar secara online melalui website http://beasiswa.dikti.go.id/bu paling lambat 20 Juli 2012. Melalui pendaftaran secara online ini, setiap pendaftar akan memperoleh nomor registrasi online.

Humber Institute Canada International Students Scholarships 2012 — Humber Institute Canada offers full tuition renewable scholarships for qualified incoming international students beginning classes in September of each year.
Full Tuition Renewable Scholarships
Humber offers three full tuition renewable scholarships (Approximate value $12,200 CAD). These scholarships are available for NEW international students only (two offered in September and one offered in January of each year). Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest. Renewal of the scholarship will be based on the student’s ability to maintain a 70% GPA in each year of his/her program at Humber. An application form will be included with your acceptance package. The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ tuition fees.
Bachelor’s Degree Scholarships
These academic scholarships (available to academically qualified incoming students) are awarded at the time of offer based on the following high school/secondary school grade point average:
  • 75-79.9% – $1,500 (one-time)
  • 80-84.9% – $2,000 (renewable)*
  • 85-89.9% – $3,000 (renewable)*
  • 90-94.9% – $3,500 (renewable)*
  • 95% or above – $4,000 (renewable)
Bachelor’s Degree scholarships are available to students coming directly from high school/secondary school studies, who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven’t attended college or university, or studied in Humber’s EAP program), and are unlimited in quantity.
